Beatrice biodiesel plant upgrade successful enough to warrant potential expansion

In Nebraska, following a $100 million retrofit, Flint Resource’s joint venture biodiesel plant with Benefuel has seen production ramp up enough over the past six months that it is eying further expansion. The facility was upgraded with a single-step solid catalyst ENSEL technology to widen the types of waste feedstock that could be used, the first implementation of the technology at commercial scale. Prior to installation, a pilot plant co-located at the Beatrice facility was used to finalize the technology.
