Trump Administration faced with sticky wicket on RFS PoO

March 2, 2017 |

In Washington, despite the White House’s denial that no executive order is in the works to shift the point of obligation under the Renewable Fuel Standard, Bloomberg reports that a flurry of meetings between the Trump Administration, members of Fuels America, the American Petroleum Institute and others have been held on the issue over the past few days. API and Republican congressmen who want to eliminate the RFS all together see the policy change as slowing down the momentum to dump the RFS while Fuels America is pushing for the point of obligation to stay the same. Participation of the Renewable Fuels Association wasn’t mentioned despite the RFA earlier blowing the whistle on the potential order and negotiating an agreement in exchange for year-round E15 blending.
