Brazilian hydrous ethanol prices sink under the pressure of upcoming crush

March 7, 2017 |

In Brazil, as mills prepare for the start of the next crush officially from April 1, they are offloading last season ethanol as is usual for this time of year, a move that has forced prices down to six month lows of 49 cents per liter for hydrous. The situation is further worsened by Petrobras’ current fuel pricing policy that continues to lower gasoline prices in line with the stronger Real, decreasing demand for hydrous ethanol even further.
