German biodiesel imports 28% in 2016 while exports rose slightly

In Germany, last year’s biodiesel exports fell short of the 2014 record of 1.71 million metric tons at just 1.54 million tons, though the figure was more than 3% higher than the previous year. The Netherlands and Poland were the largest importers though the US imported seven-times more than in 2015 at 85,000 tons. Imports into Germany spiked last year at 718,000 tons, 28% more than in 2015 with nearly a third of the volume coming from the Netherlands and 129,000 tonnes from Malaysia.
