National Transportation Safety Board still investigating cause of Iowa ethanol derailment

In Iowa, the National Transportation Safety Board said in a preliminary report about the trail derailment of 98 cars of ethanol in March in Palo Alto county that a total of 322,000 gallons of ethanol were released during the accident. The investigation into the accident, including the cause that remains unknown, is expected to continue for the next several months. Flames from the ethanol continued during 36 but no one was hurt despite evacuation of nearby homes.
