In California, Biodiesel Magazine is reporting that Calgren Renewable Fuels has been awarded a $3.6 million California Energy Commission’s Alternative and Renewable Fuel and Vehicle Technology Program to build a biodiesel plant designed and installed by Jatrodiesel.
The project requires $4.9 million in matching funding in order to secure the grant. The company has already installed a biodiesel plant that powers the 57MW required for the ethanol production facility. Jatrodiesel says its Super biodiesel technology reduces production costs by up to 28%.
