Former head of PetroVietnam reprimanded for Dung Quất EPC irregularities

In Vietnam, the former head of PetroVietnam during 2006-2011 has been reprimanded by the communist party for corruption during his tenure, including violating the law governing tenders for the EPC contract to build the troubled Dung Quất ethanol plant. The plant has been mothballed and is sitting waiting for a decision about its future, along with a handful of other ethanol plants that didn’t meet expectations, which in turn are blamed for the failure of the national E5 policy.
