Ethanol production in Parana down 51% in H2 April due to slow start to the crush

May 10, 2017 |

In Brazil, ethanol production in Parana state was down 51% during the last half of April at 45.1 million liters in light of significantly lower cane crush. During the period, 1.4 million metric tons were crushed, 45% less than in April 2016. Of the total, 47.2% of the cane was used for ethanol production. More than 28 million liters were hydrous, about 63% of the total. A slow start to the crush was blamed for the lower output.
