US ethanol production jumps to 15.223B gallon annual rate

According to EIA data as analyzed by the renewable Fuels Association, ethanol production averaged 1.006 million barrels per day (b/d)—or 42.25 million gallons daily. That is up 20,000 b/d (2.0%) from the week before and marked a five-week high. The four-week average for ethanol production moved upward for the first time in over a month to 993,000 b/d for an annualized rate of 15.223 billion gallons. Stocks of ethanol diminished slightly from last week, decreasing 0.4% to 23.1 million barrels. Average weekly gasoline demand rebounded by 2.8% to 395.1 million gallons (9.408 million barrels) daily, a five-week high. Refiner/blender input of ethanol slightly increased to 928,000 b/d. Expressed as a percentage of daily gasoline demand, daily ethanol production was 10.69%.
