May 30, 2017 |

In New York state, Approved Oil, one of the biggest bioheat sellers in New York City who pushed hard to get the city council and mayor to approve an increase in biodiesel blending for heating oil has raided by New York City Police as part of a major investigation into heating oil fraud, with officers seizing computers and boxes of documents. The company claims to be the largest family-owned operating in the city and has been working hard against a proposed bill that would tighten regulations they and the city’s heating oil association believe would favor multinationals and force smaller operations to close.
