NE Asia hydrous ethanol prices fall to 11-month low on Brazilian weakness

May 31, 2017 |

In Singapore, import prices for hydrous ethanol from Brazil into the Northeast Asian region are the lowest seen since last June at $540-560/cubic meter, basis cost and freight, due to falling prices brought on by weakened demand and rainy weather that has mills producing more ethanol than sugar. The ongoing political scandal with Brazil’s president accused of being aware of hush money paid to a possible witness in another corruption case is keeping the market volatile as well.
