South African entrepreneur awarded grant to scale up caster oil biodiesel project

In South Africa, a young entrepreneur has been awarded $7,700 following an investor pitch to Old Mutual Foundation and Red Bull for his idea to develop a castor oil supply chain for biodiesel production with small-scale farmers in Limpopo. The entrepreneur had participated with 15 others who won seed funding in 2015 and then participated in 18 months of coaching to get their businesses off the ground. Red Bull has been working with the foundation to support entrepreneurs since 2013.
