Roxas Holdings boosting biogas production to reduce environmental impact from ethanol distillery

July 4, 2017 |

In the Philippines, Roxas Holdings is installing two 5,000 m3 biogas digesters at the Roxol Bioenergy facility in addition to the two 10,000 m3 existing digesters to further treat its wastewater. The investments are meant to reduce odor emissions that have led to complaints by the local community. In addition to odors, two fishkill incidents were attributed to wastewater runoff from the plant earlier this year. The company has also promised to help the community clean up nearby pollution that has accumulated over the years.
