EPA looking to approve energy beet LCA inside six months

In Washington, following a six-year process, the Environmental Protection Agency estimates it could take another six months to approve the proposed lifecycle analysis of energy beet. But along with that approval will likely eventually come with advanced biofuel RIN generation that with current prices will add up to $1.10 per gallon to the value of the fuel. Getting the EPA approvals is a key step in reaching commercialization of energy beets as a crop that farmers will grow.
