Marine Bioenergy’s key to ocean kelp farming is drones

In California, Marine Bioenergy is getting ready for prime time as its trials progress using the company’s kelp elevator that combined with drone technology could make kelp production in the open ocean between California and Hawaii feasible. Drones do everything from make sure the algae gets enough sunlight to staying away from storms and even drags it out of the way from passing ships or tow it towards a ship where the biofuel is processed right on board.
