US Venture’s dream to export ethanol via Milwaukee may get one step closer

In Ohio, Milwaukee’s Public Works Committee will meet on Wednesday to vote on the proposed lease agreement with US Venture who is seeking to build a 1,000-foot pipeline between its tank yard at the Port of Milwaukee to the port’s liquid cargo terminal. The pipeline will allow the company to export ethanol brought in by rain and truck to Europe and Canada by boat. Though the company was hoping to also be able to trade petroleum products through the extended lease agreement, community concerns have kept that option off the table.
