Malaysia and Indonesia desperately looking for new palm oil markets

In Malaysia, palm oil producers are looking for new export markets as the European market continues to sour towards its oil and biodiesel, with eyes on Africa and closer to home in South Asia. Despite concerns of shifting sentiment, Europe’s Indonesian palm oil imports have risen 40% during the first half of 2017. Indonesia has already started trading palm oil for goods, such as Russian jets and crude oil from Nigeria, while the product is a top theme in all trade negotiations.
