Anti-dumping duties on Argentina aren’t the jump start the US industry needs

In Iowa, biodiesel plants aren’t likely to invest in further production despite the anti-dumping tariffs lobbed on Argentina because without the $1 blending credit, they’re still not as competitive due to logistics costs. The tariff, in essence, just boosted the cost of feedstock thanks to a lack of foreign competition and will instead lead to a tightness in the market as the year comes to a close. Imports accounted for 20% of RIN generation so far this year.
