In Minnesota, Al Corn’s cooperative members have voted to convert the company into an LLC, allowing it to grow its acreage to secure an extra 25 million or so bushels of corn without having to open up to new farmer members. The shift is part of the expansion program that will see the ethanol plant’s production capacity jump to 120 million gallons when it finishes in the spring from its 50 million gallons of current installed capacity.
