Argentine biodiesel imports weigh on EU FAME 0 premium

In the Netherlands, an expected increase in Argentine biodiesel imports following the lowering of anti-dumping duties by the European Commission has pushed the FAME 0 premium against gasoil futures down to a five-month low to $369/mt FOB ARA. Demand for FAME 0 typically falls in winter as blenders switch to rapeseed-based biodiesel that has a lower plugging point in cold weather. Analysts say FAME was overpriced, so between winter and incoming soy-based biodiesel, prices have consolidated.
