In Egypt, Hilton announced a deal to collaborate with Tagaddod, a biodiesel producer using used cooking oil as feedstock, to supply around 1.5 metric tons of UCO from 15 of its hotels in the country per month. Because biodiesel isn’t consumed domestically, the ICCC-certified fuel will be exported to France, the United Kingdom, Italy and the Netherlands. The company was founded in 2013 by three young Egyptian entrepreneurs and provides UCO collection for hotels and restaurants around the country.
