Indian cabinet approves 5% ethanol price increase

In India, the cabinet approved a 5% increase in ethanol prices to just over 63 cents per liter in order to improve the economic viability for sugar mills the supplying of ethanol to oil marketing companies. The country’s E10 blending mandate has failed to take off due to drought that hit production supplies last year but also to challenges with the tendering procedures implemented by the OMCs and the minimum prices guaranteed. Last year barely 2% was supplied.
