Odessa biodiesel plant parts up for auction online

November 7, 2017 |

In Washington state, the online auction to buy 397 pieces of equipment from the former Odessa biodiesel plant, including a seed cleaner, seed storage bins, grain hopper, cold presses, augers and an extruder, is open for another week until November 14. Proceeds from the sale will help Odessa Public Development Authority pay the $3.3 million loan it still owes the state’s department of agriculture for setting up the original project. Despite trying to get a tenant to take over the plant that has been mothballed since 2014, the state of the biodiesel market kept would-be investors from giving it a go.
