RenovaBio flies through lower house on its way to the Senate

In Brazil, as promised, the RenovaBio bill is soaring through Congress having already been passed by the lower house on Tuesday. The Senate must still pass the bill before sending it on to the President for his signature but the Senate leader promised earlier to do what he could to push it through quickly just like the lower house. The program would employ a certificate system similar to RINs in the US that fuel distributers must buy to demonstrate compliance with lowering the GHG emissions of their fuel through higher use of ethanol and biodiesel.
