Brazilian sugar mills use 63.17% of cane for ethanol during H2 November

In Brazil, Platts reports that sugar mills continued to focus on ethanol production during the second half of November with 63.17% of 15.225 million metric tons of cane producing 800 million liters of ethanol. Even though the percentage of cane used for ethanol was exceptionally high, production fell from just over a billion liters two weeks prior as mills start to close for the season. Already 61 mills were closed during the second half of November compared to 52 during the same period last year.
