Iowa produced record 4.2 billion gallons of ethanol in 2017

In Iowa, the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association says the state produced a record 4.2 billion gallons of ethanol this year, topping last year’s record of 4.1 billion gallons, thanks to production capacity expansion at several of the state’s 43 ethanol plants. Growing demand for exports as well as E15 helped to drive the increased production in 2017 but the association says it will continue to push for more E15 pumps to be installed in 2018.
