In Laos, the Bangkok Post reports that Thai palm oil trader OPG believes the country has more opportunities for oil palm plantations and biodiesel production than its home turf because of a lack of plantation land available. The company holds 85% shareholding in a local Laotian company that already has run oil palm plantations for seven years, and with them OPG is looking to develop a 16,000 hectare plantation that will allow it to produce 120 liters of biodiesel daily in a few years.
