Mahle Group develops technology that boosts ethanol production 10%

February 26, 2018 |

In Brazil, using third-party patents combined with its own expertise, after four years of laboratory research and two years of field tests, Mahle Group has developed MBE2 (Mahle Bioethanol 2), technology that boosts ethanol production by 10%. Using software that stimulates and controls biochemical reactions along with some technical adaptations to the fermenters themselves, the company is able to boost yields while also lowering production costs. Although the exact reduction in production costs hasn’t be announced, the company says the technology is feedstock agnostic so can be applied to any facility.
