South Korean ethanol imports jump 87% on year with big push from US

In South Korea, Platts reports that ethanol imports soared to 26,255 metric tons in February, more than 87% higher on the year and 14% from January. More than 88% of the 19,200 tons of denatured ethanol came from the US. While undenatured imports fell more than 35% to 7,054 tons with more than half coming from Pakistan and Cambodia, Australia continues to dominate undenatured ethanol imports overall, accounting for 24,818 tons of the 59,988 tons imported since October 2017.
