In Sweden, regional airline Braathens based out of Stockholm’s Bromma airport where SkyNRG and AirBP supply aviation biofuel has become the world’s first airline to offer passengers an option to fly on aviation biofuel when they book their flights. Passengers will be charged the difference in fuel costs between fossil fuels and biofuels but no additional fees will be charged. The company has set a goal to fly fossil free by 2030 and is part of the Swedish government’s Fossil Free Sweden Initiative.
