In Brazil, Copersucar expects ethanol production to reach 27.5 billion liters in the season starting April 1, 5.4% more than the year prior, with a total of 585 million metric tons of cane crushed during the April 2018-March 2019 period. The crush estimate is 10 million tons lower than this past year’s season. Datagro, on the other hand, expects ethanol production to only reach 26.7 billion liters, up just 1% on the year, from the smallest crush seen in five years of an estimated 577 million tons.
