Walyak Energy’s $45 million biodiesel plant up for city council vote next week

April 19, 2018 |

In North Carolina, Stanley City Council will decide next week if Walyak Energy’s proposed $45 million multi-feedstock biodiesel facility to grant permission or not for the siting of the facility. The council is excited about the job creation opportunities but the site chosen borders a residential area that has neighbors concerned about noise, safety and lowered property values. The town’s planning commission did not give a recommendation in at an early meeting, choosing instead to pass it on straight to the council.
