White House shoots for another RFA senators meeting next week

May 2, 2018 |

In Washington, Reuters reports that the White House is trying yet again to broker a deal between corn and oil states over reform of the Renewable Fuels Standard despite President Trump saying recently that he would give the issue a rest of a few months to see if Congress can work out a deal itself. Republican senators Chuck Grassley and Joni Ernst of corn state Iowa, along with Pat Toomey and Ted Cruz of refinery states Pennsylvania and Texas have been invited to the meeting that will be held early next week.
