POET breaks ground on $5 million DDGS upgrade project at Mitchell plant

In South Dakota, POET broke ground on $5 million investments at its ethanol facility in Mitchell to help boost the quantity and quality of its animal feed produced from DDGS in order to better service the local market of beef and bison producers, a first for the company. The new pellet product is meant to reduce wastage during feeding and marketing because it won’t blow away in South Dakota’s historically strong winds as traditional DDGS is prone to do.
