Wilmar cuts ties with palm oil provider who deforested land after Greenpeace pressure

In Singapore, Reuters reports that following naming and shaming from Greenpeace, Wilmar says it no longer purchases palm oil from those identified by the NGO as having deforested in order to plant their oil palm plantations as of June 20. Wilmar has a No Deforestation, No Peat, No Exploitation policy that it set up after promising to eliminate unsustainable palm oil from its supply chain in 2013. The company linked to the deforestation was founded by the company’s co-founder and his brother.
