Ontario’s new conservative government scrapping green energy programs

In Canada, there are concerns the incoming Ontario government will scrap green energy programs in the Green Ontario scheme including the newly announced $6.7-million Modern Wood Heating Pilots in rural areas dominated by First Nation communities.  Critics say the new conservative government are showing they don’t believe in climate change by dumping the array of programs, while communities who were set to benefit from the program’s economic development impacts from the switch to local biomass energy are instead looking at energy poverty challenges.
