Argentina’s biodiesel industry could melt down if EU brings back AD tariffs

July 5, 2018 |

In Argentina, Reuters reports that if the European Union slams Argentine biodiesel exports with fresh anti-dumping tariffs in the next two to three months, that production could come to a screeching halt as 85% of exports would be cut off without an alternative market to flow into. Just the threat of potential new tariffs could see exports to Europe fall to as low as 700,000 metric tons this year compared to 1.65 million tons last year.
