Wichita City Council Oks $38 million bond for Cargill biodiesel expansion

In Kansas, Cargill has been awarded $38 million in bonds to fund a $87 million expansion of its soybean processing plant to produce biodiesel including $50 million in machinery following approval from the Wichita City Council. The expansion will create eight new jobs and should already be online next year. The company believes there is major opportunity in expanding the soybean facility that has been on the site since the 1940s to include biodiesel production.
