POET facing opposition from neighbors over proposed Indiana ethanol plant

In Indiana, POET is facing some opposition from nearby residents of its proposed ethanol plant to be sited near Shelbyville. In an attempt to keep competitors from knowing about the company’s plans to build the facility, local officials were required to sign NDAs until the public comment period was opened for planning permission when local residents had to be made aware of plans. Some were upset about the secrecy while others voiced concerns about traffic, odors and potential explosions at the facility.
