Low Rhine pushes up rapeseed biodiesel to six-year highs

November 6, 2018 |

In Germany, Platts reports that logistics challenges on the Rhine River are continuing, pushing rapeseed-based biodiesel up to six-year highs of $1,331.25/metric ton FOB ARA, more than 6% higher than last week when it reached five-year highs. In line with rising prices, the record for the premium over FAME 0 broke again at $491/ton, the eighth all-time high set since early October. Moving rapeseed is also a challenge for crushers but the difficulties for moving biodiesel is by far the more challenging of the two.
