Beet Ireland would produce 19 million liters of ethanol should project go through

November 8, 2018 |

In Ireland, Beet Ireland’s attempt to revive sugarbeet production in the country could lead to 19 million liters of ethanol production annually in addition to 210,000 metric tons of sugar thanks to a would-be cooperative of 1,000 farmers supplying the required feedstock. The first of several grower meetings has been held to recruit the farmers required to pitch in EUR1,000 each that will put EUR1 million on the table for project development costs. Beet Ireland has already secured the land for the project.
