Petroperú cancels biodiesel purchase tender without explanation

In Peru, local press reports that that Petroperú has canceled the purchase tender of $81 million worth of biodiesel, the volume required for half a year’s consumption, on December 20 when the winning offer was meant to be announced. The tender’s closing date was December 17. The state-owned oil company has not indicated why the tender was canceled nor when it may publish a new tender but local press are criticizing the parastatal heavily for its lack of transparency in both sourcing as well as distributing biodiesel.
