In the Philippines, Platts reports that domestic ethanol prices skyrocketed in December to more than 25% above those seen in December 2017 at a whopping $1,101.40/cu m on the back of rising feedstock prices at roughly US$0.70 per liter of molasses. Sugarcane feedstock was lower at US$0.55 per liter. Though the month-on-month increase was only a modest 2%, it had followed three months of falling prices. Ethanol imported from the US was only $428.41/cu m CIF Philippines in December.
