BTA commissions Quebecois biogas plant that will supply ethanol plant

January 14, 2019 |

In Canada, Germany’s BTA International together with CCI BioEnergy has commissioned a biogas facility that will use 40,000 metric tons of MSW from 27 municipalities in Quebec. About 90% of the organic portion of the MSW will be used as feedstock, including disposable diapers. The biogas will be used by neighboring Greenfield Global Quebec’s ethanol plant. Around 400 local farms will use the digestate for fertilizer enhancing corn yields for ethanol production. The facility is the fourth based on BTA’s process in Canada.
