In Minnesota, Epitome Energy has chosen the town of Crookston as the location of its proposed soybean extraction plant that will produce 30 million gallons per year of biodiesel in addition to soy oil and soybean meal. The company told local press that there are more than 1.8 million acres of soybeans in the 10 counties within shooting distance of the proposed facility, and a university extension study shows that the facility will help to boost local prices for soybeans by 20 cents per bushel.
