Kenyan ethanol stove company uses app to encourage customers to sell units to friends and family

In Kenya, KOKO Networks has developed a new scheme to encourage the users of its ethanol stoves to get others to also buy the stoves through the use of its customer mobile app. Customers can earn a commission of $2.50 for every stove worth $61 they are responsible for selling, be it to friends or family or whoever. Sales progress is tracked on the app as well as credits which can be shared among the new users. Vivo Energy teamed up with the company last year to supply the ethanol for cooking from both domestic and international sources.
