EU deal allowing Argentine biodiesel imports may risk GMO-free glycerin supplies

March 19, 2019 |

In the UK, ICIS reports that the European glycerin market is unsure what impacts on the supply of non-GMO glycerin may result from the European Union’s agreement with Argentine to allow price and volume-capped biodiesel imports. Some experts believe the price and volume caps will keep European producers operating in the competitive market while others worry that EU production could fall despite attempts to regulate the European biodiesel market.
