US glycerin market eyeing increased Indonesian biodiesel production

In Texas, ICIS reports that the US glycerin market expects additional volumes of glycerin from Indonesia to arrive following a ramp up in biodiesel production spurred by the country’s move to B20 last summer and further plans to achieve B30. While the US market is taking a wait-and-see approach, Asian buyers and suppliers of glycerin have taken a mixed view on the likelihood of increased volumes with the former expecting them to rise while the latter don’t expect to see much change.
