Katzen awarded design contract for new Brazilian corn-based ethanol plant

May 1, 2019 |

In Brazil, Biofuels International reports that Katzen has been awarded the contract to design Brazil for Ethanol S. A. Bioenergia’s new corn-based ethanol plant in Nova Mutum, Mato Grosso. The facility, which broke ground last month, will produce 800,000 liters of ethanol per day in addition to DDGS and corn oil. The project is a joint venture between Grupo O+ Participações and Grupo Infiniti. Corn-based ethanol production is picking up pace in the central part of the country where sugarcane ethanol is expensive to reach for supplying the domestic market.
