EPA confirms year-round E15 will be ready by June 1

May 15, 2019 |

In Washington, Platts reports that the Environmental Protection Agency still expects to have regulations for year-round sales of E15 ready in time for the summer driving season that kicks off on June 1. An agency spokeswoman who confirmed the timeline didn’t get any insight into how far along the EPA is in its process. There are about 20 states that don’t currently sell E15, including major markets like California and New York, that could provide the bulk of increased demand when filling stations eventually install pumps but those already selling E15 during the rest of the year are likely to implement year-round sales first, adding nominal volumes of increased ethanol demand.
